About

Hello!

I’ve always loved the smell of books, older ones in particular.  This may seem strange to some, but those who feel the same, know exactly what I'm talking about.  When I was a kid playing hide and seek, I seemed to find myself hiding in our coat closet or behind the couch in front of my grandparents bookshelf just to smell that dreamy, musty book scent, that still nostalgically brings me back to my childhood.

My sister and I spent many hours digging through the card catalogs and shelves at our library when we were young, some books coming home more than others, like The Poppyseed Cakes and The Marvelous Mud Washing Machine

I never really grew out of those youthful and innocent stories as many do. I continue to find myself drawn into the whimsical, imaginative worlds that are woven into stories for children and young adults. From Frog and Toad to Nathaniel Fludd to The Sixty-Eight Rooms, the adventures pull me in every time, hanging on every word until the last page.

As you get older, your life is ever changing, where you start and where your journey takes you is always a surprise.  There is a vacant space in our cozy downtown. I can stand outside of it, close my eyes and picture the dark walnut shelves that line the walls, filled with my favorite books as a kid, just waiting to be introduced to the next generation.  There are cozy nooks, warm drinks and comforting scents that fill the air. It's filled with children and adults of all ages. My FrogPrints bookstore is tucked away into my "maybe some day", because my kids are growing so fast I can hardly stand it and I plan on soaking up every drop.  So for now....I thought this might be my bookstore. It may not have old wooden shelves or that nostalgic smell, but maybe it might introduce someone to a new book that will make them smile and dream, because you are never too old for Peter Pan and Neverland.
